Description of blog

Sometimes I write about the Valley. It is a type of meditation that was developed by Carlo Lopez. You quiet the mind and let your spirit speak to you through elements of the Valley; River, Fire, Lion, your bird to the left, your four-legged animal to the right, to name a few. It is a journey worth making.

Mowgli e la Valley / Mowgli and the Valley

People ripped apart by a tiger, leaving behind a baby. Before Shere Khan could kill him too, the panther Bagheera takes him to safety, to live with the wolves. He sees courage in the baby's eyes. Mowgli learns to be a wolf or at least tries to. He learns about the jungle and their sacred, ancient laws. Baloo the  tells him to run like a wolf, on all fours, because he's training for the Running (a tradition to earn a place in the pack). But when Mowgli fails and uses fire to save the wolves from Shere Khan, he's cast out and the humans take him to the village as their prisoner. The humans are bipeds with fire, like in the Valley, we have fire near our Bird to fuel us with knowledge. The wolves fear this "magic" of man - they do not know or make fire, instead they are in the wild where they find plenty of water (in the Valley River is near our four-legged animal). Mowgli learns the way of humans, his mind soars in ways it didn't before. There is a woman that treats him like a son, there's dancing and other children, there are tools. In the end it is by uniting the two worlds that Mowgli is able to defeat and kill Shere Khan, the tiger that represents the anger living within the jungle. Mowgli calls upon the help from elephants, wolves and uses a knife - a tool he gained from the humans. At last the jungle (the Valley) is at peace and lead by a new chief, one that is complete, having united both parts of himself: both man and wolf, neither man nor wolf.

Cycle of howls

Wolf looks at the ground, at our feet, and feels the Terra under her paws. Every step we make, we feel it as if it was coming inside us from contact. As if we were deep in it. She should howl, we should howl, others are doing it, but comes only a low sound. We feel deeper in Terra, and the moon that calls us, and suddenly we lift our head and howl.
And the moon feels the Metallo in our howl.
And the moon is shining on Acqua, moving it on land.
And Acqua breathes on Legno, growing tall.
And Legno one day falls, and Fuoco sparks in it.
And Fuoco quiets down to ashes and rejoins Terra.

I hear Wolf howling again.

The garden in Autumn

Our garden was warm
and the air thick with
the smell of damp earth
and the dirt was painted
with the leaves of fall
and the green of spirit

Wednesday, October 25

The morning

You were warmer than warm,
your hair softer than soft,
your kisses sweeter than sweet,
and I didn't want to go
even for a moment,
I didn't want my face away
from your chest.
But I went on in the day,
feeling still your warmth,
and your hair,
and your kisses
that never left

Coming closer

It was like
your smell came
to search me
and I leaned in
closer and
closer
wanting to
kiss you

Always summer

Yes, I miss the summer
cooking under the sun,
your hand in mine,
tasting the salt of life
on your lips.
But I feel it still,
can taste it still.
We are there and
we are here,
in every moment,
in every tomorrow,
let go of your worries love,
feel this with me

Sword Dance

(A haiku)

How I am happy
To make this sword dance with you
Full of energy

Your touch in the night

(A haiku)

In the night I felt
you caressed my face gently
and I feel it still

Ginkgo tree in the night

I see the shadow of the leaves,
realizing
how I waited
for the green to arrive,
how I'm waiting
for the burst of yellow
again.
Now I see
how full
the delicate petal shapes are
lit by the moon
feeling the fullness
also in me

A busy day

And there is the chaos of people,
the bustle of work,
the to and from school,
and I am breathing,
breathing,
breathing...
until finally
in the night
I am breathing with you

I heard birds this morning

I heard birds this morning,
like the magical ones that
sang to Snow White.
High tones making a
pretty song.
It's ok, I thought.
I went on

I heard birds as I walked,
like the sweet ones that
sang to us
on summer mornings.
Low sounds making a
deep song
just for us.
And I smiled

Red woman

She dances like fire
and flows like blue
Her feet inhale the ground
and her hands exhale the sky
Her center is pure gold
but light like a feather
And she smiles at us, hun
She invites us to move like her

Smelling your haiku

My nose on your skin
my heart smells your air, your breath
I breathe deep, I smile

Sunday, October 15

Eye of a storm

In the hole,
I couldn't see.
In the storm,
I couldn't hear.
In the eye,
I can hear Him
I can see your smile
and I can breathe

Nuestro verano de amor

En ese momento
escuché las ondas
sentí el olor de sal
y del café en tus labios
sentí el calor
de tus manos
Y besé nuestro verano
tan lleno de amor
Y les sonreí
a los veranos que llegan

How to heal

I feel the flames
tickling our skin
when we're together

You kiss me,
I laugh

I kiss you,
we smile

We breathe,
you heal.

Sailing with you

I saw waves
as I heard your voice
and I felt the sun,
the fresh air,
blowing in gently
from the open doors
and though the air
was full of flowers and
grass, leaves and dirt,
I smelled the sea;
and though you paced
on hardwood floors,
I felt your feet on
hot sand that molded
your every move;
and I wanted to swim
in this moment,
so I laid on the floor
and felt us in the sea,
letting the waves take me

A simple moment

Your hand
landed on my
cheek
but I felt it
right on my
heart,
and you caressed it
and gave it a
brilliant
shine

Writing poetry with you

I had the poem
there
in my mouth,
as I kissed
you
where I could
reach.
And I let
every word get
exposed
in every move I
made.
I felt I could
soar
every moment you
rhymed
with me
and your every
breath
that asked for
more
